Aug 17, Pentagon confirmed that US forces killed at least 13 Shabaab Mujahideen fighters in the vicinity of Teedaan, Hiran region of Somalia.
The air assault was in support of the Somali National troops who were being attacked by the Al-Qaeda aligned militants.
Al-Qaeda and Al-Shabaab were previously allies for several years
